Hey,
A few days ago i re-installed one of my notebooks. I tried to install the 14.4 driver first, but there is no catalyst and no driver installing available for me.
So tried it with 13.12, same ***** here!

So i installed 12.10 without any issues, after that i tried to upgrade to 14.4 by installing the driver, but still the same. The installation manager tells me that everything is up to date.

How to install 14.4 to my notebook?!

Intel I3 M330
ATI Mobility Radeon 5470
Windows 7 x64

Chances are when you 'reinstalled' your notebook, you did not run Windows Update..or ran the 'automatically install' and thought you were through. You must update your OS. Run windows update and install the relevent 'optional' and 'recommended' updates...there are netframework and wdm updates available. After that then try to install the AMD drivers.

I have the same graphics in my Asus laptop. No issues at all installing the 14.4 or 14.6. I don't know how you install your drivers, but here is how I do it.

To perform a 'clean install' of AMD graphics drivers:

1. IMPORTANT: All Windows Updates should be current, including the 'optional/suggested' updates
2. IMPORTANT: Disable all anti-virus/ad blockers/anti-malware/ anti-anything before trying to install
3. IMPORTANT: Netframework is required and must be the latest version. (from Windows Update)

Create a system restore point before, just in case.

Download the drivers for your computer to the desktop. Follow steps 1-5 ( http://support.amd.com/en-us/download ).
Do not use 'auto-detect and install.

Delete existing drivers from your computer:

In computer control panel select 'uninstall a program'

For computers with Intel processors:
Select AMD install manager and choose 'express uninstall all AMD software'
Including the install manager.

For computers with AMD processors:
Select AMD install manager and 'custom uninstall' the graphics drivers and CCC only.

Reboot into 'safe mode'
In safe mode run DDU (uninstaller)  http://www.guru3d.com/files_details/display_driver_uninstaller_download.html
Select AMD graphics, analyse and delete all it finds.

Reboot

Install the new driver suite.

 Reboot

NOTE! Certain laptop configurations are not compatible with AMD's Mobility Catalyst™ Driver.
AMD provides graphics drivers for most laptop brands and models for the Mobility Radeon™ HD series of graphics cards.
If the AMD Mobility Radeon Driver Verification tool reports that the hardware is incompatible, then the notebook manufacturer is the exclusive provider of the graphics drivers for your notebook. (GPU-28041)
Sony, Toshiba, and Panasonic will not accept generic drivers. Get drivers from manufacturers support site.
Laptops with 'switchable' graphics must use manufacturer supplied drivers.

I already uninstalled the whole drivers, i disabled the anti virus und i tried it... same problem! Netframework ist up to date, got all windows updates.

I also already used the "auto detect" software.

And i already de-installed the drivers with this DDU 5x, i also tried to install 13.X and 14.X more than 5x...

And why can i install 12.X and nothing above?!

/edit

Ok, i tried again with a clean re-install.

I did the following steps:

1. de-installed everything with "amd install manager"

2. Reboot in safe mode

3. de-installed the whole drivers with DDU

4. restart

5. disabled avira-scan

6. tried to install 14.4

And this happens:

The installation photo you posted may suggest that, either a driver version is already installed, or this particular driver suite has compatibility/ driver signature issues with your system and/ or your gpu.

You can look for a modified catalyst driver suite on the internet (like on guru3d) that may allow you to install up-to-date drivers.
