This is the kind of problem MOM.exe is causing, and I get a BSOD.

It says I have a bad pool caller on the BSOD screen.

AMD's given.

Try this:

http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=30135

Or manually reinstall net framework.

Please tell us the manufacturer and model of your laptop. What OS? Was this the original OS? What graphics card. What processor. What drivers are you using (14.4, 14.6, 13.9 etc) and where did you get them?

Oh, I'm sorry I forgot to mentio, I reinstalled my NET framework so everything... SHOULD be okay with that part.

But anyhow, I'm running W8

HP pavillion DV6, original W7 OS.

I have an AMD Radeon HD 6620G (integrated)

Quad-core AMD A8-3500m APU with Radeon HD Graphics

It says my driver properties for my AMD radeon is 13.251.9001.0

Thanks.

There are over 50 DV6's available. There has to be more of a description...model number. Does it use switchable graphics? Did you try any of the suggestions you have recieved? What drivers are you trying to install? Did you ask HP before you updated to Win8?

Oh, sorry.

HP Pavilion dv6 Notebook PC 6145DX

-Sorry, W8.1

Actually HP says it's not sure if I should be upgrading because they haven't tested it. I ran the autodetect thing.

I don't think it has switchable graphics, which I think would require that I have more than 1 GPU.

Yes, I've reinstalled .NET.

Could I just uninstall CCC?

No you don't have switchable drivers, so that is a good thing. The bad thing is what HP says about your upgrade to Win 8.1....""For this reason, HP is unable to provide update instructions or Windows 8.1 drivers. You may lose basic functionality and stability if you try to update your system."" So they aren't offering even basic drivers. You can try to install the drivers...but don't use auto-detect. Here is a FAQ guide to uninstalling/installing new drivers.

Your best bet is to go back to Windows 7.

Oh... okay.

Well thanks a lot. Sorry I think I might just stay on W8 though, I'm getting used to it and I think downgrading would be a bit too complicated.

I think I'm going to try uninstalling CCC for the time being, which should be good.

Thanks for the help.

Well, don't forget Microsoft is ending support for Windows 8 (that's why a 'free' upgrade to 8.1) and AMD stopped driver support for Windows 8.

Sorry. I meant I'm staying with Windows 8.1

But.. Sorry to have another problem...

But I had another BSOD because of mom.exe..

And I thought I uninstalled CCC, but it's still there.

Could you help with that? I'm really getting exasperated now.

In the computer control panel > uninstall a program > find amd install manager, click it and 'custom' uninstall just CCC.

Hm well it's not there for some reason, I think it's hidden. Is it because it's a bad idea to uninstall CCC or something?

What is not there? No...CCC (the control panel) is part of the download if you select it. Do a clean install/uninstall following this guideline in the FAQ.

No, sorry. It just doesn't show up.

When I run the install manager, only two things, like HDMI and some other sound thing shows up.

I've gotten 4-5 BSOD's in the past two weeks from MOM.exe, and it's located in my C:\Program Files (x86)\ATI Technologies\ATI.ACE\Core-Static

No matter what I tried for that clean uinstall, the entire directory doesn't seem like it's being touched.

I'm just going to rename it for the time being because it's getting sickening.

Sorry, but I really don't see anything else in the add/remove programs. It's one of those hidden ones, I think.
