After getting frustrated with a lot of graphical problems caused by the old drivers that HP didn't care to update anymore, I downloaded the auto-detect and install software from AMD Download -site. With that I finally got rid of all the glitching in graphics while gaming.

However, now I can't adjust the screen brightness anymore. The hotkeys in my laptop's keyboard are not working nor the brightness setting in power-settings in the control panel. I can still see the slider but the brightness stays the same no matter which position the slider is in. I can, however, adjust the brightness temporarily directly from Catalyst Control Center but when I start gaming, the adjustments reset and the brightness goes back to high level.

I'd really like to get this problem solved. I wouldn't like to go back to the old 2010s driver's that HP provides. Any help will be appreciated!

Details of my system are here:

Unfortunately, with many laptops you don't have a lot of options when it comes to drivers.

Most of the time the maker uses custom drivers to do certain functions.

Using the generic AMD mobility drivers can, and usually do, cause a loss of certain functions built in to a laptop.

I am also facing the same problem in my laptop.

Dell Inspiron5520 Windows 7 64 bit

ATI Radeon 7670M graphics

Installed the Catalyst from AMD website and since then, not able to adjust brightness. Also the catalyst controle centre is showing single option and thats of Hydra Vision only.

Please help for atleast the brightness issue. I am bound to use catalyst driver as it supports AMD APP SDK for OpenCL with computation for GPU. Any alternative to this driver, for AMD GPUs is welcome.
