I have a dell XPS 400, running Windows XP Home Edition SP3. My last hard drive failed, so i used the Win 7 Enterpreise edition 90 day trial before i got my replacment discs. I got them, and installed XP. Everything is updated (through Widnows Update) and my video card still isnt upgraded. I have no clue what card i have, but i do know it was the original one that came with the computer. I bought it brand new. I opened up the computer, and took the video card out. I read the id's on the bottom, and they gave me NOTHING. The auto detect will not run on my computer (I open it, and i see if for less then a second then it closes itself.) When i go into the driver manager page, i double click on Video Controller (VGA compable) (there is also just Video Controller, ive done this to both) i click "reinstall drivers", following the directions above the button because i am running off of the MS default drivers. Ive googled MANY hours, and have found no way to figure out what card i have. Ive downloaded "Video card detecters" and nothing shows me anything. PLEASE HELP! I NEED ASAP!!!!
