Hi guys

I was using ati8661_win7vista64 drivers for ages wihtout a problem and mustve accidentally allowed windows to update my graphics through windows update.  I immediately lost Aero and couldnt get it back.

I tried deleting drivers, tried rolling back and even clean removals of catalyst, then updating to todays latest drivers (12-6-legacy_vista_win7_64_dd_ccc_whql).

I SOMETIMES get aero to work immediately on install, then after a restart its back to nor working again

Any help here?

  • Select AMD Graphics
  • Select Analyze
  • Select Clean
  • Reboot when prompted (into your regular OS)
  • Install CCC
  • Reboot 2-3 times before opening CCC up to allow it to complete configuring itself in the background.
  • Re-test

It should be mentioned that Driver Fusion didn't remove a couple of files - didn't look like drivers though, as it mentioned I had to buy the paid version to get those removed.

Driver fusion is free. You must have downloaded the 'pay for ' version.
