Per the link below, your graphics card is not supported on Win8.  The last OS that it was supported on was Win7, so your options are:

  • Put Win7 back on that computer
  • Get a new computer
  • Run your current computer as it is with Win8 on a basc driver

So you think AMD needs to have Windows 8 support for a 7 year old card which Microsoft won't accept for WHQL certification? Are you completely mental? $300 can get you a Trinity APU system that will blow your current one away in a form factor smaller than MicroATX.

....or you could take it that way too I suppose.  Hey, I didn't say or promise that you would like my options.....only that they were your options.  Don't shoot the messenger.  Fact remains that they are your options.  I really don't see what the problem is staying on Win7 tbh, I'm still on it with all of my rigs (except for one that I play around with Ubuntu on ocassionally when I get bored) and I don't intend to move over to Win8 until after the first SP is released.

Cheers!

You know some people, must rush out and buy the new OS no matter if it only brings a horrid UI and is based off of the same kernel as Vista, and no matter if the previous OS will support everything Windows 8 supports except a new Windows 8 UI (can't say Metro) IE 10. I plan on using Windows 7 until Microsoft actually puts out Windows Kernel 7 instead of releasing a slightly modified previous version the way they did with Windows 98SE.
