all of a sudden my PC is not showing a signal to the HDTV. usually when this would happen id just have to boot the machine a few times to get it to work properly. but now each time i get past the Windows logo it just loses signal.

what ive tried  is going into safemode and uninstalling the driver and have it revert to the generic one. then im able to boot normally. when i try to reinstall the display driver, wether it be an older version or the latest from the AMD site (12.6) , once its installed if i reboot im back in the same situation. if i dont reboot, in the display settings on Windows i can see that the driver is installed and i can choose any resolution.thing is once i do that once again the signal to the HDTV drops.

ive used driver sweeper and removed every trace of the driver. i still have catalyst control center installed. not sure wether to remove that as well or if itd make a diference. it doesnt load up on start anymore because it doesnt detect the AMD driver.

also when i try to install the driver with AMD's software rather than just the driver file itself, the AMD installer shows all the programs it wants to install except for the actual display driver. when i use an older AMD installer , then that shows me the display driver will be installed. but in the end i end up back in the same situation.

not sure what to do. its definitely a driver issue as the the video card works fine with the generic driver but of course im stuck with a low resolution and laggy performance

system specs:

ATI Radeon HD 2500 AGP

Dell Optiplex

Pentium 4 3.20 GHz

Windows XP Professional SP3

 Samsung 46 inch LED HDTV

Not sure if it will help, but I'd uninstall the driver and VECC, clean out the riffraff and then use Cat 10.2. It's old but good for old cards.
