I have a VisionTek ATI Radeon 5750 PCI-E video card.  I'm using the DVI-D for my computer monitor display.  I have an HDMI cable running fron the video card to HDMI2 on my TV.  I can watch movies located on my PC on my TV by switching the input to HDMI2.  These display both on my PC and my TV.  Problem is, I have no sound coming from the TV.  I have sound on my PC and can crank up the sound on my PC speakers, but it's not coming from the TV sound.  What am I missing?  I never see any HDMI device when I right click on the speaker icon on the task bar, I only see Speakers as my High Definition Audio Device.  When I go through the uninstall/reinstall of the card, I always get the message "Warnings have occurred during installation", but when I click on "View Log", nothing happens.  I'm running Windows 7 Ultimate.

Right click the volume icon in the taskbar, select playback devices. Right click in the empty space and select show disabled/disconnected devices.

If the AMD device doesn't show up, you don't have the driver installed. If it shows up as disabled, enable and use it. If it shows up as disconnected, then there is something wrong with the HDMI connection (like using a non-audio HDMI port on the TV, damaged cable etc.).
