I have a problem with Mobility Radeon HD 3400 and need some help and/or confirmation regarding that video card.

I bought an eeebox B206 that I want to set up as HTPC. The specs are as follows:

- Intel Atom N270 (1.6 GHz, 533 MHz FSB, 512 KB L2 Cache)
- 1 GB of DDR2-533 SO-DIMM
- 160 GB SATA @ 5,400 RPM
- ATI Radeon HD 3450 (It says Mobility Radeon HD 3400 in Windows)

From browsing various wiki / forum, I expected that this is enough to play 1080p videos (using DXVA with Radeon HD 3400).

I already installed Windows 7 and Catalyst 13.1 and the appropriate video player.

I enabled the hardware acceleration in the player (DXVA) and tried to play 1080p content, but the result is very choppy, I check the CPU and it stays at 100% all the time.

Somehow the hardware acceleration didn't work.

I checked with DXVA Checker and it said that the video card doesn't support H.264 DXVA2 and VC1 DXVA2.

Is this result accurate? Can HD 3400 use DXVA2 or not?

Anyone have any experience regarding this? Can a driver fix this somehow?

Or is HD 3400 just incapable of using DXVA2 and I'm screwed.
