So they released a beta driver for the 4xxx series for those that are having crashes with some applications. Download, installed the full suite yet still at 13.1.

So what in the world am I doing wrong to get ahold of this Beta Driver and put it in?

A simple forum search would have brought up several threads which explain that typical beta releases do not update the Catalyst version displayed in the VECC.

Well, was asking about the suite and drivers. Not about the card. Thanks for the heads up, black_zion. Will see if there is a link somewhere to actually get the driver rather then the whole suite.

Check the actual driver version and date in device manager, not in CCC.

Thats what I did and noticed that it's only 13.1. If I could just get ahold of the 13.4 Beta Driver now, problem solved via just putting it in manually.

I thought you should do un-install of current CCC before using a beta version.

That's impossible. Driver versions are something like 6.14.x.x as far as I remember.

This is all I got to work with in getting that driver to the best of my current knowledge with the second one under "Latest Beta Driver." Which is the driver that I need.

1. Remove all AMD drivers.

2. Install 13.1.

3. Open Device Manager.

4. Duble-click the videocard enty.

5. Go to the Driver tab.

6. Write down what it shows for driver version and date.

7. Install 13.4 beta.

8. Open Device manager.

9. Duble-click the videocard enty.

10. Go to the Driver tab.

11. Write down what it shows for driver version and date.

If the sencond entries are higher than what you wrote for the first time, your driver is updated no matter what CCC says. 13.1 or 13.4 is just the version number of the installer package itself, which is sometimes missing. And if it is missing, the value of the previous one is visible in CCC.

Okay.... But where do I get 13.4 Beta from? Because a driver shouldn't be 185mb big.

Well, if you have a capped connection, go to an internet café or find a place with public wifi. Or ask a friend to downlad it for you.

It shouldn't be 185MB? It's a unified driver and has the code for all cards in the HD 2k, 3k and 4k series. That's 30+ different GPUs. It also has the VECC/CCC in the package. It also contains both x86 and x64 drivers.

Assumptions is the mother of all charlie foxtrots. I just have dial up seeing I live out in the middle of nowhere in a little town called Barren Ridge in western part of Virginia but have a copy of that 185mb download. Seems like the driver is up to date now after clearing out the old drivers and reinstalling the new ones and the application is running fine now it seems so thanks for the help everybody.

Problem solved.
