It's not designed to run on an almost 6-year-old card anyway. Also 8.1 is designed for tablets, not 6-year-old computers. It cannot even run on some because of its CPU requirements.

Use Windows 7 and Catalyst 13.9 legacy or buy a new card/computer. I suggest the first one, 8.1 is not even worth the disk space it occupies. If you need metro, get a tablet or phone.

From what I am aware of, there will not be a Windows 8.1 driver for legacy products.

Support for nvidia drivers is much better than the ATI Radeon.

Nvidia Geforce 8 series old already has drivers for Windows 8.1 64-bit.

I'll buy an Nvidia Geforce.

Wow, editing your post to show "nVidia GeForce 8 series" instead of "my old nVidia GeForce 7 series" ...

Hope you're happy with your GeForce, not like they don't have as many issues as Radeon...Watch out for those driver releases which seize the fan and kill your card.
