All,

My Laptop HP G62-340US connected to TV via HDMI  and used to work perfectly on Windows 7 . There was power failure and since then it stopped working.

So I uninstalled everything and installed original Catalyst control center that came with HP. Now in the CCC it shows built in display and the LG TV on HDMI. But when I switch the input on TV it says no Signal. I tried everything I could but it doesnt seems to fix the problem.

My Laptop was dual boot so I tried in Windows 8 and still a blank screen.

Yesterday finally fed up with the isue and I restored the laptop to factory setting and its still not working.

I tried another TV and it doesnt work there as well.

I tried 3 different HDMI cables and problem still exists. These cables works fine with another laptop.

in the device manager  when I click on properties windows says this device is working properly.

So now what? Has the GPU card failed? IS there any solution?

Here are the specifications of the lapop

Try different drivers, different OS versions etc. Collect data to be able to pinpoint the issue. Trying the card in another computer is also a good idea, as well as trying it with another monitor.

update, VGA is working HDMI still shows no Signal. While CCC detects it as LG TV.

Thanks for reply Eydee , I tried latest legacy drivers that came for windows 8 as well as drivers provided by HP that came with laptop.

Sorry I cant try with another comuter , card is embedded with laptop's motherboard.

How about XP, Vista, 7, Linux? The most interesting would be the latter one. With open source drivers of course, a simple live CD.

Then it's probably dead. You can stick to D-SUB, replace the motherboard or get a videocard. I suggest getting a video card if you have a PCIe port.

Thanks for reply ...The laptop doesnt have PCIe port.   Video chip is embedded with Motherboard.  I believe replacing motherboar will be expensive so looks like this laptop is useless to me as I intended to use it on my TV only.

Thanks again for the reply.
