I'm a student and classes start for me tomorrow, my desktop crashed last wednesday night and I went through all the steps to get my CPU replaced because I have a warranty (Yes I've checked all other options to why my computer crashed. it's the CPU). I've emailed the tech staff, no reply, I've called there support number 8 TIMES and waited for at least thirty minutes for EACH CALL but no one picked up. This is so irritating that I'm almost convinced to drop AMD and go buy another CPU because I can't go long without my desktop for it has all my expensive software that I need for my classes.

 

Btw I typed all this while still waiting on there support number

 

Why I'm convinced it's the CPU

Bios won't load

Monitor is not getting a signal

No beeps from the motherboard upon start up

Screen stays black regardless of time PC is on

Fans turn on, that's it

Removing graphics card didn't change anything  

all connections on the motherboard are snug

No evidence of a shorted circuit or damage to the motherboard

You might want to mention your system specs so someone can offer some advice. Read the "PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING" and edit your post to include the needed info. Also, you posted in the 'extended support' forum which is for older VIDEO cards.

Even more interesting that someone that old doesn't know that warranty is always done by the reseller. AMD is not even the manufacturer, only the designer.

Wherever you got that CPU from, call them, explain your problem, they might be able to help. Though as CPUs almost never die (except from being used incorrectly), you should check that CPU in another computer first to avoid making a fool out of yourself.
