Hi,

I have an Asus HD 3600 card, which I'm perfectly happy with.

I NEED Open GL 2.1 and need to update the drivers.  I updated to Win 8, and was happy with it until I discovered Win 8 disables to install the drivers to the legacy cards.

I tried many times, but it seems that Win 8 holding an Iron hand over the drivers.

I'm happy with teh card, It;s driving two 24 HD monitors, and I couldn't be happier with it's performance.

HEEEEEELLLLP!!!!!

My best,

Mike.

Your only chance is using XP, Vista or 7. Your card is not supported under 8.

That was a good one.  I'm trying to run a photo manipulation software like Topaz. It runs in Windows.

But it seems, that my laptop is running Open GL 4.0, so I can install it there.

Anyway, I have a perfectly healthy computer and graphics capable of driving two 1920x1200 monitors, and I can't use a stupid photo manipuation software apckage.

It's so frustrating.

As you're undoubtedly the god of AMD and Graphics, can you please tell me which cards (the cheapest) have software support from AMD in Win8.

The issue is, when I start to dismantle my computer I would have to make some big upgrades including new motherboard/processor, memory, etc.  Except I don't need it.

My best,

johnday

Yes, I am the biggest and greatest god of AMD. Not only AMD though, I rule the whole world, you included.

Cards still supported:

5000 series

6000 series

7000 series

8000 series (no desktop cards from this on though)

R7 series

R9 series

all APUs

You are being led by lack of knowledge..

"The gimp" aka GIMP is one of the best, full-featured graphics manipulation software packages around.  It has been ported to Windows, but *IS* a Linux program, which is where it started, and continues to evolve.  Take the plunge, find a popular "flavor", and give it a go.  Just about everything you want to do, minus "hard-core" gaming can be done on the free platform that is linux.  I'd suggest Debian, Mint, (both very popular) or Fedora, which is what I mainly run, though it's more of a development OS, meaning it has a shorter lifecycle (time between new releases).

All should work with your 3000 series card.. I personally have a 3650 AGP edition card running in a Fedora box, but I had to jump through some hoops because of the AGP part
