Hello, I just bought a Radeon HD 3450 AGP graphics card and am having problems with the drivers.
I have tried to install the Catalyst version 13.9 since they are those that appear on the website of AMD for my graphics card.

The problem is that these drivers don't recognize my card, is only installed the AMD VISION Control Center, but not the drivers for the card.

Looking around I found the drivers version 12.1 AGP Hotfix, I installed them and they work! It seems that the problem is that the normal drivers are not compatible with AGP cards.

I can not find more versions of Catalyst AGP Hotfix, not listed by the AMD website and I would like to have the latest drivers for my graphics card. I don't understand how there are so many complications with the drivers of a card that is currently being sold in stores!

I need help please. If there is some way to operate normal drivers or where can I find more Hotfix versions.
The characteristics of my system are as follows:

AMD Radeon HD 3450 AGP graphics card.

Processor AMD Sempron 3000+ (Barton)

Motherboard Gigabyte GA-7VAX VIA KT400 Chipset

RAM 2 Gb DDR 333

Windows 7 32 bit operating system

Thank you!

Currently being sold in stores? What country? These graphics cards have been in the 'legacy' list for over a year...meaning no more support. I hope you didn't pay a lot of money for that dinosaur. Can you return it?

Yes, in Spain you can find this card brand new in every computer store. I am not really interested in returning it because my PC only have AGP slot and this is a good card for AGP. I used to have a Radeon 9600 and this is a great improvement.

I am running Catalyst 12.1 AGP Hotfix without much problems so far but, why can't I use version 13.9 if it is listed in AMD's drivers web page as compatible with my card? Why there isn't more Hotfix versions? Where can I get them?

I am very dissapointed. :-(

I don't believe there will be any more updates for your AGP card. You can try a 'clean install' of these drivers.

To perform a 'clean install' of AMD graphics drivers:

Delete existing drivers from your computer.
In computer control panel 'uninstall a program'
For computers with Intel processors:
Select AMD install manager and choose 'express uninstall all AMD software'
Including the install manager.
For computers with AMD processors:
Select AMD install manager and 'custom uninstall' the graphics drivers and CCC only.
Reboot into 'safe mode'
In safe mode run DDU  http://www.guru3d.com/files_details/display_driver_uninstaller_download.html
Reboot
Install the new driver suite.

Here in the US you can still find them and other legacy cards from both AMD and nVidia in WalMart and Office Depot stores. One employee even told me they were brand new cards, some of the most powerful you could buy. But really you could use the 12.1 AGP drivers without any issues.

Don't be. You're not missing anything. You want stability vs compatibility with the latest greatest games that your AGP system doesn't have the power to handle.

Well, I've followed the installation procedure that stumped posted but still no luck...

If you think version 12.1 is ok, I will use it. I have been testing some games and the card is working great, much faster than my old 9600.

Thank you for your help, guys. :-)

I read your post and I have Radeon HD 4650 and am having the same trouble as you are. I can not get 13.9 to install.  I did a search on Bing for AMD Catalyst Suite 12.1 hotfix for AGP and was able to find 12.3 hotfix for AGP a few links down the list. The 12.3 link took me to this web site, driver.softpedia.com. Take a look if you have not already found 12.3. I installed it and everything seems to work. The 12.6 hotfix is not for our graphic cards. Besides 13.9 I think 12.3 is as far as we go. Oh well as long as it works. Good luck.
