I built new desktop system MSI Z97 HD MATE Mobo , Intel G3258 processor, crucial 256mb SSD, 16gb RAM,  PSU 450w, windows 8.1 64bit os. I have HD4850 pci-e lying around. I installed and connected pcie power. It worked with generic display driver, no issues.

I went to AMD site and downloaded Catalyst Software Suite 13.1 version (Display Driver ver. 8.97.100.7, OpenCL(tm) Driver 10.0.937.2
Catalyst Control Center 2012.1116.1514.27190).  It is unstable. Suddenly while browsing on IE, display goes black. Tried to open control center, display whitestreaks and needed to power down.  Went to Beta 13.4, same issues. I had to go back to using Intel onboard graphics. Went to window event logs. Will there be any conflicts with intel software or direct x?

So much frustrated. Any suggestions which CCC and driver work on 64bit win8.1 system? Greatly appreciate it.

I didn't realize that ... 8.1 not supprted for 4000 series. It got installed successfully, no issues there.

But I saw other forums that some installed on 8.1 but amd may not be supporting officially. Thanks.
