Guys i want to buy a new motherboard.

My current Motherboard :

which is total crap because of the stupid sata slot placement which is placed so close with the PCI-E slot, should've never go cheap with motherboard and do more research , well lesson learned.

Replace with this one :

it have a 90 degrees sata slot and it fit on my case. Now i need opinion on this, are there any major issues on gigabyte z77 board ? or other things like better motherboard i could choose, any feedback is appreciated. thx.

Edit : Btw is this the correct categories for motherboeard ? or it should be on other ? because there's no motherboard categories.

Seems to have good reviews that board .. All my builds for clients over the past few years have been GigaByte boards and I'm using their GA-990FXA-UD5 which has performed flawlessly for me so far.

Go read a few reviews before making the choice ..

I see, since all your clients build use gigabyte you must've know much about gigabyte mb.

Are there some feature that i should be aware of which could cause problem especially on gaming ?

I also have read some of the reviews which gives good review for this board. But on those review there's alot of feature which i will not use, for now at least, hence the question i asked above.

I prefer ASUS boards myself, but I don't think I've ever seen a BAD review of a Gigabyte board. However, this does concern me:



That pretty much limits you to single card solutions (single or dual GPU cards) for the 3.0 x16 slot, because as fast as the higher end cards like the 7970 and upcoming even faster HD 8900 series, as well as their nVidia counterparts as well, that 2.0 x8 slot is going to eat some performance. Of course with Intel changing sockets as much as they do, chances are you'll have to buy a new board to get your next processor as well.

Yes i realized that, but the PCI-e Slot it's not a problem for me, cause i always use single card, never have a thought of going xfire/SLI.

BZ when you said the pci-e 2.0x16 (x8) will eat some performance, that only happened if went dual GPU right ?
