Here is a viable alternative to LoJack for laptops. It is designed for laptops, smartphones, tablets etc. It doesn't have all the features of Lojack , but it doesn't Call Home every so often to report its location either...and it doesn't cost $39 a year. Give it a read. It could help recovery efforts if your laptop, phone, or tablet gets stolen or *cough* misplaced.

I had LoJack on a laptop a few years ago when it was stolen. Unfortunately it found the thief...a friend of my teenage grandson. I tried this out last nite..it took a nice picture of the 'thief' (me).

Here is a good example of a laptop tracker. Although it is a different program/brand..the results are the same. Also, I read that Prey is available now for tablets and smart phones...and it's free.
