This just Intel won't be making Intel-branded desktop motherboards anymore.  They've always been a bit player in that market anyway.

 

Yeah, they'll still be making chipsets... just not whole motherboards.  The chipset has always been Intel's favorite hammer in the motherboard market anyway.  They'll still have plenty of influence even if they won't be making boards themselves.
