The 560ti was originally ~$310, paid ~$20 in shipping it back. MSI has picked up all additional shipping.apparently by the way, the employee that offered me the replacement lacks "sufficient technical knowledge to answer [my] question". About power adapters

Heh... nice.

The six pin connector is rated for 75 watts, while the 8 pin connector is rated at 150 watts.  Add to that the 75 watts that can be drawn from the slot.

The actual pinout for each connector looks very similar, so long as your card draws less than 225 watts, you'll probably be fine using two six pin connectors with an adapter.

Assuming MSI hasn't been a dick and coded it so it won't work without two 8 pins, though I do remember a trick I used with my HD 2900Pro to use two 6 pins, one fully and the two black (ground) pins from a second to make it an 8 pin, so if you have 4 6 pins, or some of those molex to PCIe adapters laying around you could do that. Just plug the 6 pin into the farthest left 6 plugs, turn a second 6 pin upside down and use the last column of ground pins to make an 8 pin, the keys match up. At the time I was using a SeaSonic M12 with only 6 pins and it worked perfectly fine overclocked to HD 2900XT speeds for 2 years, and we all know how power hungry that embarrassment of a series was.

Guru3D measured a load - system figure of 232w for the card itself, so even with a margin of error a 225w supply isn't sufficient.

Well that's annoying.

Keychaining is still on the table though...
