As a hearing impaired rock and roller who uses CC whenever possible, this is a God-send. If it works.

""More than 6,000 Regal cinemas are about to become a lot friendlier to deaf and hearing-impaired moviegoers with the introduction of special closed-captioning glasses made by Sony.""

This reminds me of those board games, namely Jumanji, where to read the card you had to slide it under a special tinted dome. But even more than give an aid to hearing impaired people, think of places such as international film festivals where the subtitles could be displayed in anyone's native language based on what their glasses are set to.

Yep....that's right. You would have thought that the bigger film venues would have been all over this. But at least everyone can see 'Django Unchained' with their native language captions...which ought to be a laugh.

The downside is though these glasses are like bowling shoes, you don't know who had them before you, and you really don't want to think about it.

.. then you bring a spray can of alcohol into each movie session, give the glasses a nice anti-bacterial course
