Hey everyone.  This isn't a request for support, just making some idle chit-chat about one of my favorite games.  Anyone else play Nexuiz on Steam?  I finally couldn't take it anymore with the presets set to "Very High" ... with my 7950, it just doesn't have enough oomph to keep a nice, steady framerate.  But when I lowered everything to "High," it was smooth as butter.  I really can't complain, because 99% of my games run really well.  I guess it's just that every once in a while, you have to make compromises when you don't have the top card.  (Plus I'm now playing on a 2560 x 1440 monitor, so, of course, you do the math.)

I used to overclock a little when I had Intel, and I know that I might be able to do that here to improve the situation somewhat, but I'm not into that anymore.

Beautiful game IMO.

Holy cow ... that should be "tone down," not "town done."

LOL.

Yeah, at times I wish I had a 7970 for that extra horsepower.  But overall I'm still satisfied.

I wish i had a desktop somtimes

(mines a 7970Mobile hehe. approximately the power of a stock 7870 when overclocked.)
I miss desktops but laptops are awesome....

A 7970 would be great for the extra horsepower and overclocking.

Ah, I gotcha.  Heh, well, your laptop definitely beats my laptop, which is simply a midrange multimedia notebook with Intel HD 4000 graphics.  It can max out real old games no problem (like Unreal 2004), but more recent stuff has to be set to medium at best.

Cool!

You know, I see you are requesting help with an Eyefinity setup.  I ran an Eyefinity setup at one point with my previous 6970 card and my desktop, with three monitors.  I believe I used two DVI cables, and the third was some sort of cable that had a DisplayPort adapter at the other end.  I hope you get everything straightened out ... I'm not sure how much help I could be, since that was early last year when I did that (for a few months).  Now I'm just on one monitor again.

All i need to know is if i can use VGA in monitors. I have the correct ports(2 non mini DP+1miniDP). My graphics card supports it, I can buy the right adaptors(HDMI to VGA, MiniDP to VGA Active, and VGA native. and i can get the screens

really the question is as simple as "As long as i have the right adaptors, can i use 3 VGA/dsub monitors?"
Thats my last and final question.

To be honest, I'm not really sure.  Hopefully someone in the Eyefinity subsection of the forums can help.
