Hey everyone.  I don't know how far back you go when you do your gaming, but I just bought the original DOOM and DOOM 2 on Xbox Live Arcade.  I remember when these games originally came out, I played around with them, but I'm not sure if I ever even finished them, so for the sake of nostalgia and doing the "right thing" by actually ... purchasing ... the games this time (ahem), I decided to spend some time with these old classics.  It's funny ... even though we're used to the cinematic quality of games like Battlefield 3/4 and stuff like that, in my opinion the original DOOM is still fun to play by most standards as long as you don't mind the early- to mid-90s graphics.

Actually, I originally tried doing this on Steam, but those versions ended up running under DOSBox, and I couldn't get them to work very well.  So I thought, huh, I wonder if they're on the Xbox 360?  Sure enough, yeah.

Look up "Doomsday" as well as the high res pack for the PC version, it's much better.

Interesting ... I might have to investigate that further.  I did some searching around, but at this point I'm a little confused as to what I'm supposed to actually download or run.  Seems like there's several sites that relate to Doom Hi-Res Texture Packs and also for other old games like Wolfenstein.  Thanks for the tip.
