The only driver I can use is 12.1, any newer and I get this blasted 4.1 aod error.
I tried installing .NET 4 to see if that would work, no go.

I tried run setup.exe as admin and UAC off, no go.
I do not have to aoddriver4.01 I removed it since the 12.1 just leaves it there.
I don't understand WTef is this error and why AMD has not fixed this for 6 driver releases!!!
I've spent alot of hours on this  and I'm in the same situation I was in when they released 12.2.

I also have a thread here with no luck.

If people could check thier Event Viewer Administrative Events for this error, maybe alot of people don't realise they are getting the error.

Remember, that is a reporting form...not a help form. If you want technical help..the link is in the report form header. You might want to look at this forum http://forums.amd.com/forum/categories.cfm?catid=33&zb=3478506

I have the 6970 card and have no issues with installing any of the new releases. Are you removing the old drivers and software before installing the new? Driver Sweeper?

Did you not get the scaling & the system tray not hiding problem?  I used drive sweeper but it doesn't work.  But driver sweeper did help to get AMD Overdrive in Catalyst 12.4.

the problem is not with installing the drivers, its the fuel service fails to start with windows. this happens for me with every driver this year except 12.1. i reinstalled windows 7 yesterday and installed the 12.6 driver and still the same thing happens?

AMD need to sort this crap out and think about the people who don`t have 7000 cards, its not fair.

Also, have you filled out the report form? Contacted technical support?  Since this seems to be a application for AMD processors why don't you check out the processor forums?

Its the aoddriver installed with the fuel service and is in the 12-6_vista_win7_64_dd_ccc video card driver.

It it not the cpu overclock program.

I think its for the GPU overclock.

I am sorry, I don't know what that program is. I don't have it...since I have the same series card as you, I have to assume it is a AMD processor/motherboard thing. Can you reinstall it?

Only 2 people out of a zillion. You should do a fresh OS install in a separate partition and try the drivers there. If the issue goes away, then your system is borked and should be reinstalled.

my system is fine, I'm not reinstalling windows to install a driver.

probably 2 people out of a zillion are smart enough to look at event logs.

Plus a guy tried that here: http://www.rage3d.com/board/showpost.php?p=1336997454&postcount=15

I have the exact same problem. Same fault codes and timestamp and everything. I have a radeon HD 5770 if that helps. It has been an annoyance the last few months and has been causing many crashes. Also, ive wiped my drives clean and done 2 reformats since the problem and it hasnt corrected so i think its on AMD

Then use an older version which works for you. No one forces you to do what I said. Though I think the only reason not to do it is fear of being proved wrong.

Please your not helping.

12.1 works yes, but it would be nice to update the drivers wouldn't it?

In 12.2 driver, aoddriver4.1 service was added, it's not working right and reinstalling my OS is not gonna do squat.

Maybe a AMD tech came help.

hi there chris,

i was am having the same problem as you since the 12.1 driver, all of then after that have AoD driver problems and Fuel service problems. i have found away of sorting the AoD driver problem here http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/forum/342005-15-event-7000-aoddriver4-error

but not the fuel service problem. apart from this which i got from someone else having problem with the fuel service

Dude I figured it out.
Go to device manager and disable start-up of AODDriver4.01 and AODDriver4.1, click the driver tab and start-up type set to disabled.
You have to select "display hidden devices" and look in plug and play

Reboot

Disable Fuel service in the contol panel under sevices.

Reboot

Set AODDriver4.01 and AODDriver4.1 to DEMAND

Run this bat file as admin to clear your Event logs.

Reboot and the f^&*ing bast@#d error should be gone!!

It's plagued me too since 12.1.
Everything seems to function good after this, CCC runs and graphics overdrive works.
I'd stay away from the CPU overdrive as thats what the fuel service and the stupid AODDrivers are for.
Let me know if it works out for you.

hope theses help you

I didn't suggest reinstalling your OS. I suggested doing a separate clean install into a separate partition to find out if it's your system or not. You seriously have problems with comprehension.
