first off, some backround info:

System specs:

i7 2600k

AMD RADEON HD 7970(Sapphire)

Z68BC mobo.

Windows 7 professional (64-Bit)

24" 1080p Asus monitor

Game Capture HD 1080p60 passthrough recording

my issue:

i am an avid video maker for youtube. i recently purchased an Elgato game capture HD which is a 1080p60 HDMI passthrough recording device. i have been recording from my Xbox succesfully for the past few days. i bought this device hopeing that i can capture the output of graphics cards. it turns out it can, when playing games. while watching netflix HDCP turns on and then it doesent work. my issue is this: when i try to plug in the HDMI to the game capture and then the monitor(7970>game capture>monitor) the screen turns fuzzy. i checked and the catalyst control center says im running at 1080i30. when i go to HDTV settings to allow override settings when EDID isnt present, CCC wont allow me to go past 1080i30. i check windows display settings and it sees the monitor as Generic PNP monitor. i tried someting. i uninstalled and deleted the AMD drivers. when i plugged the HDMI (7970>game capture HD>monitor) the resolution is 1080p60. so whats messing up is the Catalyst control/AMD driver. how can i force it to display 1080p60?

thanks so much in advance for any help, Phil
