Driver Packaging Version 8.98-120611a-142035C-ATI
2D Driver Version 8.01.01.1253
Direct3D Version 9.14.10.0920
Catalyst Control Center Version 2012.0611.1251.21046
Hd 5970, i7 960@3.2 GHz, 6 gig ram.

Each time I've tried to udate to CCC 12.8 either the driver fails to install or I blue screen. I followed AMD's directions for udating as I have many times but no joy, even removing/reinstalling in safe mode.

I gave up on 12.8 and after several attempts, got 12.6 to reinstall properly.......any ideas..............thanks.
