I`ve just installed a preview version of win8 64b, and threw in a Radeon 9600 card. AMD Driver Autodetect correctly identifies my hardware with vendor-id 1002 (ATI) and Device_id 4150 (Radeon 9600 series), but leaves a blank field when suggesting best driver for download. The driver (which is correct) I manually downloaded does not detect the card.So I`m kinda stuck with correctly detected hardware I cannot use.Any suggestions?

Because that card is too old to be supported on that OS. [mod snip: verbiage not neccessary]

Actually, the problem is that the driver is not digitally signed by AMD. Windows 8 absolutley will not install 64-bit kernal drivers unless they are signed. You *can* sign the driver yourself, but the process is a bit involved. See my post in this forum "Install Legacy drivers in Wondows 8". If you really get stuck, private email me and I'll provide more complete instructions.
