Hei all,

I was updating my Gigabyte Graphic card GV-R577SL-1GD (Radeon HD5770) with the latest driver 12.10  10/22/2012.

I choose the Customize Install and I got a yellow Warning symbol with the text:

"Select to upgrade from 'AMD Catalyst Install Manager' version 8.0.881.0
 AMD CIM installation package"

Does anybody can tell what this warning means?

Apart from that warning message I have clicked on NEXT to finish the install procedure succesfully (I hope).

Thank you for your reaction.

It probably means you are installing the new driver suite over the old one. Or, you didn't uninstall the old installer. Nothing to worry about.

Here is the way most are installing the new drivers:

Uninstall your old drivers using your computer control panel / uninstall a program... you will see 'AMD Install Manager' ..Express uninstall all AMD software including the installer. Reboot. Run Driver fusion (free) http://treexy.com/products/driver-fusion  select AMD graphics and delete all it finds. Reboot. Install the latest driver suite for your card. Reboot. You should be good to go.

Note: All current AMD drivers ( 12.9 and above ) require .netframework 4...Please read this before you try and install drivers http://forums.amd.com/game/messageview.cfm?catid=444&threadid=162109&enterthread=y . If you haven't installed it, the CCC panel will not work. You should disable any anti-virus/anti-malware/add blockers/etc before trying to install the drivers.

Thank you for your clear answer.

Yes, you are right. I had forgotten this time to first uninstall via Control Panel.

I will lay your advices to heart!
