Hello everyone,
I just insatalled win xp 64 bit, and installed the drivers (they support xp 64 bit).
The problem is that after the (succesfull) install, the windows act like there is no drivers. Its pretty much like when you have a fresh windows installation without drivers: when you drag a folder or a properties window, there is lag in motion and laggy visual updates.
Any idea in this?

When you check the driver in the Vision Engine Control Center or Device Manager, does it show the AMD drivers, or does it just show the generic Windows drivers? Can you get the Control Center to launch, and is it present in your right-click menu? Until you can determine if the drivers are actually installed or not, it will be hard to say why you're seeing the lag and such.

I didnt installed the Catalyst center, since this software is crap and bloatware; for the love of god, why on earth it has to require the cancer called .net framework??
I have installed just the driver, as done in xp 32 bit, in which everything runs as it should. In another forum I posted the same thread, and others as well had the same problem: http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/forum/283907-35-5800k-problem#t1000323

XP/XP64 2D acceleration has been bullcrap for ages. It's not your fault and everything works "as intended". The OS is near its end and supported/optimized too much.

Most any of the 11.x series, but it really is time to move into this decade and get Windows 7.

Neither catalyst 11.12, nor 12.8 (already had 12.6) worked out.

Have you tried the beta drivers? I've got them for my 7850 and haven't had any graphic issues since then.

Any fix for this yet? I heard a rummor that new drivers will be rewritten and thus fix many proglems, including the mouse pointer/cursor problems.
By the way, whats going on to the amdzone forums, the board says that "Creating a new account is currently not possible". Any idea? I thought posting those matters there will get the attention of the developers of amd, unless I am wrong and it will be just another conversation between users.

I have the exact same problem. I made this pc using gigabyte cheapest motherboard for fm2 put a A10 5800k and 8 gigs of ddr3 corsair vengeance 1600 cl9 Also coupled with a super fast ezex hardrive from WD( 1tb 1 platter drive) soley for photo editing purposes.
I need this computer for profesional printing. Windows xp is the only operating system that prints corectly. Windows 7 is bullcrap as it does some sort of cropping to the potos and non end up the dimensions i specified.
I have the same problem that "function" explained. The windows are shaky like theres no driver installed . Also photoshops says theres no renderer posible on the gpu and disables it compleetely leaving only CPU accelearation wich sucks.
Amd please stop giving useless replyes and give us a fix for this . We payed money for this and there are windows xp 64 drivers listed there so it is supported.
*Note* i dont have this problem on windows 7 32/64 or windows xp32 and everything works perfect there
