Graphics Card
AMD M880G with ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4250

OEM Amd Mobility Radeon HD 6370

AMD Catalyst Driver Version, and Driver History
I have updated the graphics card without issue once before, I have no imformation on that.
Information on last working version from Device Manager

AMD M880G with ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4250:8.770.2.2000 9/29/2010

Amd Mobility Radeon HD 6370:8.770.2.2000 9/29/2010
Operating System
Windows 7 Home Premium 64-Bit (Sp1?)

Issue Details
After downloading auto detect software, and running it and the downloaders/installers that follow, the image on the screen decreases in size to a couple inches, aero is disabled, and Catalyst Control Panel disappears, being replaced by AMD Vision Control Center, which reports that no graphics card driver is installed. In the device manager, one of the cards has "Reported problems and has been stopped" while the other card is not recognized by the system, but Device manager reports that it is okay. Upon updating one of the drivers from device manager, most of the symptoms disappear, however, Vision Control Center still doesn't recognize the card, but the card is somehow still in use.

Motherboard or System Make & Model

Laptop: HP Pavilion dv7 Notebook PC

Product Number: XZ288UA#ABA

Serial: CNF10750KB

BIOS CONFIG: F.28 - 04/11/2011 (058512001424B10000020100)

Memory: 6GB Processor: AMD Phenom II P860 Triple Core

ACPI x64-based PC

Additional Details
The computer overheats a lot, a two tone beep from high to low is heard from time to time, followed by a click. System performance began to degrade a few months ago, and that's why I tried to upgrade the driver today.
