Recently, I was having issues where my computer was crashing every 20-120 minutes while I was playing Guild Wars 2. I was running 12.10 at the time. They suggested trying 12.11 or 12.9 instead, as they both were known to work better with the game.

I installed 12.11 Beta Drivers. And to the credit of those that made the suggestion, most of the crashes stopped. However, since installing 12.11 drivers, I have to turn off my computer completely when I'm done using it. If I put it to sleep, 90% of the time, I can't get it back on. If it DOES come back on, it's with a lot of issues. 

The few times it has come back on for me, there has always been a message for me stating that drivers were not successfully installed. The monitors won't be working quite right. I have a dual screen setup, and the lsecondary monitor will be extremely dark.

At first I assumed the driver message was for the monitors, because it didn't tell me which driver didn't install correctly. However, I also have a Logitech G15 keyboard, and I recently noticed that it's screen also wasn't coming back up when this issue occurred. 

I reformatted my computer the other day to see if that would fix the problem. I had did a driver sweep when I started having the issues, but that didn't solve the problem, so I tried re-installing Windows to see if that would help. Without 12.11 on the computer, everything worked fine again. But as soon as I put 12.11 back on, back came the problems. 

I would prefer to not go back to 12.10, and when I look in the Previous Drivers section of the AMD website, they only go up to 12.8. When I google search 12.9, I only find beta drivers for it. Is that all there was for that version?

I'm running Windows 7 64-bit with an Intel Core i7 920 processor, a Gigabyte Radeon HD 5870 video card, and a Corsair Enthusiast Series TX950 power supply. I'm not using Eyefinity, just a normal Dual Screen Monitor layout. 

I've looked all over for someone that can give me some advice for this problem, but I can't get anyone to even comment on it. 

I have a similar issue with Win8. I've reverted to using Hibernation as resuming from standby just doesn't work. Report your issue to AMD Customer care (link in VECC) and we can all hope the 2013 driver sets will have a fix.

Sorry, relatively new to AMD still. I don't appear to have VECC. How am I supposed to get it? I did a search for it, but it seems to take me to out of date CCC versions (12.6, for example). Is it installed with CCC, and I just don't know it? 

If I don't have it, should I? Any good links on what it is exactly? I just figured the CAPs out, so I'm pretty far behind on what most of the stuff AMD uses actually does. Sorry.

But I'm at least glad to hear that I'm not the only one having the problem. I wish there was an easy fix, though. 

It's called CCC if you have an Intel CPU and VECC if you have an AMD CPU. It's still the same application except for VECC having some CPU related options too.

You don't have to have CCC installed to report issues too!  Our Issue Reporting Form is currently closed, but when a driver is newly released (and for 30 days after that) the Issue Reporting Forum is open.
