So I recently built myself a computer with my graphjics card being a Sapphire Vapor-X 7970 3GB. It has been working like a charm but i recently started running into a few problems.
Basically my Issues are this:
I cannot run games in full-screen, when i press alt+enter the screen goes black and then reverts to a windowed display.
While attempting to fix this problem I downloaded the AMD Driver auitodetect and install, upon running I get a message that tells me i have the most up to date drivers for my system. then it says that my hardware is "0x1002 - 0x6798 PCIE" even though i have an HD 7970 installed and it shows up as functioning fully and properly in windows device manager.
So i attemp to install manually, I grab the latest drivers for the 7900 series, select win7 x64 and install, the initial install bar goes through all fine but then the secondary part fails to initialize and it says that it "failed to acces Catalyst Install Manager engine. please ensure that no other instances of Catalyst Install Manager are currently running."
Odd, do some browsing on the interwebs for a solution, atempt the commonly recommended patch of running this file entitled "support" in this folder "C:\AMD\Support\12-10_vista_win7_win8_64_dd_ccc_whql_net4" but i get the same error, "failed to acces Catalyst Install Manager engine. please ensure that no other instances of Catalyst Install Manager are currently running."
So i am not really sure what i am supposed to do. I thought about deleting the drivers for my 7970 in windows device manager but seeing as how Catalyst Install Manager is apparrently malfunctioning or missing i am afraid i will be without video drivers and i would rather run games windowed than not at all.
