Been having issues getting drivers to install correctly for my HD 6770. I had to do a reformat and trying to recover drivers. At first the display driver and HDMI sound driver were coming back as "fail" in the log. At the bottom of the log it says

Driver Install: Windows® version does not support this operation
Driver Install: Windows® version does not support this operation
Driver Install: Windows® version does not support this operation
Driver Install: Windows® version does not support this operation

I came here to see if I could find anything to help fix the issue and found this topic posted by Stumped: http://forums.amd.com/game/messageview.cfm?catid=444&threadid=162444&enterthread=y.

I have tried everything in Stumped help topics. Followed these exact steps:

1. Uninstall old drivers using computer 'uninstall a program' in the computer control panel. You will see "AMD install manager"..click it and choose ' express uninstall all AMD software including the install manager.
2. Reboot
3. Run Driver Sweeper http://www.techspot.com/downloads/4266-driver-sweeper.html . Select AMD display / graphics, analyse, and delete all it finds.
4. Reboot
5. Download the correct driver suite [ you do not need the .dotnet4 version if you have installed netframework 4.5 ] from AMD (do not use auto-detect) and install. http://support.amd.com/us/Pages/AMDSupportHub.aspx (find your drivers)
6. Reboot

Now I get the following error:

"AMD VISION Engine Control Center cannot be started. There are currently no settings that can be configured using AMD VISION Engine Control Center."

Running Windows 7 32-bit (liscensed)

Running .NET framework 4.5

All Windows updates downloaded and installed

Please help

And what happens if you attempt to manually install the driver via Device Manager?

When I tried to do the updates via Device Manager, the "Windows cannot start this hardware device because its configuration information (in the registry) is incomplete or damaged. (Code 19)" problem arose. I completely removed the card from the device manager, then removed the card from the PC. After rebooting with the card placed back in it found the drivers needed as well as reconfigured the registry keys.

Only problem I'm having now is that the Catalyst Control Center (CCC), dosn't install properly (versions above 11.5). I finally found the 11.5 download and it works fine. Am I really missing anything with the newer releases?

Not really, maybe a few percentage points difference in terms of performance and bugfixes which you don't need.
