AMD Radeon HD 5850, 1GB
LG L245WP on HDMI-HDMI instead of original DVI-HDMI
Windows 7, Ubuntu 12.10 (both x64)
I replaced my monitor's original DVI-HDMI cable by a HDMI-HDMI cable. Now the image is translated about 8cm/5cm into the left-top direction (so part of it is invisible) and its blurry. According to the AMD driver I'm using the display's native resolution of 1920x1200 while it claims being run 1080p.
This is NOT the under-/overscaling issue (in fact in CCC the scaling options are deactivated/"greyed out") causing black frame around the whole image displayed but only a black area in L-shape on the right and bottom that are freed by the translation of the image. The effect is observed both under Windows7 x64 and Ubuntu 12.10 x64 using the AMD driver (both 12.10 and 13.1, scaling options as well) while it does not occur using the default Windows and linux opensource drivers respectively, the image being now then in the right place.
As the effect only occurs when using the AMD driver I suspect it being responsible and my monitor settings being innocent. I already fiddled around with both driver and monitor settings but did not have any success.
Is there someone who can help me out with this? Thank you.
