it's a simple glitch and the easiest way to clear it up is to minimize the screen and then restore it...  sure it's a detail that should be fixed, but then again it is just cosmetic and more of a nusance than anything else.  Was it really worth your effort to come by here and complain about it?

 

As for you other problem make sure your system is in High Performance Power profile:

That's just a front end for the control panel power settings. It does not affect the video card in any way, only turns off C&Q on the CPU.

I know it's only a front end for the COntrol Panel...  but it is a simple way to see if the system is in a performance mode or not
