I'm trying to connect my Samsung HDTV to my PC through the displayport port as a secondary display. I have a converter from displayport to HDMI plugged into the displayport on the gradphic adaptor and my HDTV plugged into the HDMI side of the converter. For some reason, the report to my PC comes through Win 8 and Catalyst as a VGA 640x480 display and it will not see my HDTV for what it is. My laptop with and HDMI port drives the HDTV just fine so I know it's not the TV and HDMI cable. Any hints on how to force this in Catalyst on my PC? I can't find any info Dell's web site for the OptiPlex 7010 about how or why this might be happening.Thanks.
