So I have dual Radeon HD 6770s in my PC right now (running Windows 7 Pro 64-bit). I went ahead and updated the drivers for them by downloading and installing: (1) Catalyst Software Suite 13.1, (2) Latest Beta Driver 13.2, and AMD Catalyst Application Profiles 12.11 CAP-2.
I downloaded and installed the 12.11 CAP-2 no problem, during installation of Catalyst Software Suite 13.1 (about midway through) the colors went haywire. All of the colors looked to be inverted and all text was hard to read. So I went ahead and installation the Beta Driver, hoping it would fix the issue. Nothing happened. Restarted and got an error opening the Catalyst saying I need .NET Framework v4.0 in order for this to work. So I went out and got that, restarted, colors were still messed up but I was able to enter the Catalyst Control Suite now. Opened it and navigated to the resolution section. Changed it from 1920x1200 (which is recommended) to 1920x1080 and boom, looks back to normal.
My question is, why would the colors get messed up mid-installation of the Catalyst Software Suite 13.1? And then why would the only fix be to change my resolution to lower quality which isn't even a recommendation? I'm curious if I can get it back to 1920x1200 with the graphics cards working properly.
Thanks!
