I have an HD 5970 that I had stable when overclocking for a year now. I rencently bought a second monitor and now when AMD overdrive is enabled screen 2 flickers. I think it is a problem with underclocking when the system is running 2D, the clocks drop to 157/300 and can't support 2 monitors. Has anyone else had this issue and been able to fix. I can disable the graphics overdrive but I like to keep my non stock fans at 100% because they are super quiet and give me great temps at full load my card does not break 50 degrees C.
I have had this system for a while and everything is stable, this only occurs with second monitor. Disconnected computer works great.
I have tried switching cables, trying new cables (DVI and VGA with adapter) changing the monitors around. It is always the screen set to 2.
