WHQL driver 13-1 leaves me with a black screen during it's uninstall. Waited for several minutes for the screen to come back. I am then forced to shutdown the computer with the powerbutton. Tried the whole procedure several times. Is anyone able to reproduce this using the uninstall utility?

- Sapphire HD7870 XT

AMD Catalyst Driver Version, and Driver History
- 13-1_vista_win7_win8_64_dd_ccc_whql on newly installed Windows

Operating System
- Win7 64-bit SP1 fully updated

- Asrock Z68 Pro3 Gen3

Power Supply
- Corsair CX430 V2

Overwhelming response. LOL! Anyhoo, used the uninstall tool again and it was without problems this time. Peace out.

Also having problems after using uninstall util.

All my powermanagement settings and access to them are gone.

Seems that tool is deleting more than just AMD files and settings.

Question to AMD: how to restore powermanagement?

Not if you use it properly.

Description:

This standalone uninstallation utility will clean your system of any existing AMD Catalyst™ drivers to prepare your PC for the clean installation of a new driver version. Currently supports Windows 7 at this time.
After running the utility, a restart of the computer is required to fully remove driver files that may be in use during the uninstall process.  Installing a new driver prior to a system restart may cause the operating system to not function properly.

I'd reinstall the OS, it has a built-in feature to do that called refresh or whatever. If you want to ask AMD, you're at the wrong place. Still, the'll say the same: RTFM.
