Since installing the Catalyst 13.1 drivers on my computer, I am no longer able to make changes to the 3D Application Settings - specifically, the global system settings. As soon as I attempt to change one of the fields, the Catalyst Control Center application simply quits and the process disappears from task manager. I am, however, still able to build profiles for specific applications; this does not incur a crash. I have not found any other part of the program that displays this behavior. On my previous driver revision (12.8), I could change the global 3D settings without issue.
System:
Gigabyte P45-based motherboard
Intel Core 2 Q9450 2.66GHz CPU
8GB DDR2 RAM
2x Radeon HD 5850 in CrossfireX configuration (I can enable/disable this in the driver without a problem)
Sound Blaster X-Fi Titanium PCI-e
4x WD Black 640GB SATA2 HDD in RAID5
Cooler Master HAF 932 Full tower
OCZ 1000w modular power supply
Windows 7 Pro 64-bit OS with all current updates installed
I'm mainly concerned that I can't disable the default "AMD Optimized" tesselation setting as I've seen it cause significant slowdowns in some games (eg. Borderlands 2) which are working my oldish PC fairly hard. I got a noticeable performance boost in said game when I disabled tesselation in 12.8.
Any help would be appreciated.
