Hello, I bought the old max payne 1 and 2 and can only get them to work with CCC 12.6 in Windows 7 64 bit. Does anyknow why they wont work with 12.8, 12.10, or 13.1 ?

I am having the exact same issue and a lot of people have complained about this problem on the Steam forums as well. I have already send a ticket to amd about this maybe you can try to send a ticket too. http://www.amdsurveys.com/se.ashx?s=5A1E27D20B2F3ECF
It seems that MP1 and 2 work best with 12.6 and 12.10. Anything above the application doesn't even start.

Same problem with 13.3 beta (HD7850)...On 12.11beta it was possible to run in compability mode with 98/ME, but now even this not work. On my second PC with Nvidia GTX460 max payne 1/2 works fine, but i prefer to play games on HD7850 P.S. similar problem exist in The Saboteur, when GTX460 runs it fine, on HD7850 i got "error initializing graphics hardware". But HD3850 runs it fine too

Yeah, I have all ways purchsed AMD/ATi products.. but since they aren't answering or replying to emails I may jump ship and get an EVGA 650ti instead of this 6750.

Possible workaround (same as OpenGL stuff):
1. Get the Microsoft Dependency Walker.
2. Open the main executable of the game and run profiling.
3. You'll see the loaded modules. Find the driver file which is loaded (probably ati....dll/sys or amd......dll/sys).
4. Extract this file from an earlier Catalyst release which worked with the game and put it into the game folder.
5. Test the game.
This is just a theory. I cannot test it as I don't have the games. Someone could try it though.

Have you thought about reporting it to AMD instead of complaining on a user-to-user game forum? Nobody here is a engineer. Each driver download has a report form at the bottom of the page...to report issues with that driver set...

I was told by an AMD rep to post here instead of the driver feedback page if I wanted a reply by AMD stuff. The driver feedback form just dumps the info into a database.

I have never heard that..I can tell you that using the issue reporting form does get read and issues are addressed. Again, the form specific to a driver set is located on each driver download page..example:
AMD Catalyst™ 13.3 Windows® Beta Driver

- AMD Issue Reporting Form for Beta DriversAMD Radeon™ HD 7900 Series
|
AMD ISSUE REPORTING FORM: This driver release incorporates suggestions received through the AMD Issue Reporting Form. To provide us with your feedback, visit the appropriate form:

I've reported issues with that form requesting them to contact me and never heard a word from AMD (nor the issues have been fixed).

I wouldn't be expecting a phone call. The process works...when enough people send issue reports (that are reproduceable) things get fixed. perfect example is one of the beta's borked BO2. Enough people reported it and it was fixed on the next beta ( Fixes graphical corruption on onbjects and textures in Call of Duty – Black Ops 2 )....so just report the issue and don't expect a personal response.

I was advised by tech support to try 13.3 Beta 3 after removing 13.1 (which I did.., and even ran driver sweeper before restarting the first time).
And nope, it do not work. I was told to send in a survey for it too (which I did..) . And now waiting on a reply back once again.

Well it's been a few days now, and no responce from Tech Support after I told them I reported the 13.3 Beta 3 didn't work with max payne 1 and 2...
It's not looking good for them fixing it in 13.3 I don't guess.

So yea I just had the urge to play this game. Downloaded Max Payne 1 and 2 only to find out they weren't working. A few searches led me to a bunch of people with the same issue. Radeon HD 5450 here. Trying to start Max Payne 1 or 2 and nothing happens. Shows up in running processes, tells me program is running but nothing happens.
Please for the love of god fix this issue.

Have you tried the new 13.4 or 13.5 Beta ? I'm on metered bandwidth from 5AM-11:59PM so I can't download it yet.
