I've been trying to play WoW with my Phenom 1055t and 7850 (non power saving) card, and noticed i've been getting really low FPS. I did a quick search if this performance should be correct, and it wasn't. I double checked my drivers and noticed that the drivers for the 6xxx series was installed. I uninstalled the drivers, installed the drivers for the 7xxx series, however it still displays as the 6xxx series.
When I uninstall the 6xxx driver, it doens't show up. I restart the computer, and everything seems fine, the resolution is really bad because there are no drivers installed. After a few seconds into loading, the screen goes black and goes to my 1920x1080 resolution, in which i'm assuming the drivers are auto-installed. I check the system settings, and the VIDEO card is displayed as 6800 series, not my 7850 that's in there.. I've also disabled the "auto install drivers" settings under system properties, still the same thing.
I have a new SSD in which I installed the same time as my 7850, so there are no traces of an old driver on this hard drive. HOWEVER, I have my OLD internal, which had the drivers for the old 6850 card I had still reading. Is it possible that windows 8 is reading the system information from the other internal? Why isn't my system detecting the 7850 hardware?
Thank You.
