I have this weird bug where even just after startup of the computer (win7 64bit) the GPU is reported to be under 95% load and just never stops. That means my GPU fan is going crazy trying to cool it down, but it never succeeds. My idle temperature is around 75% degrees because of it.

I can see it's running on 95% activity in the control center, and that never stops. Manually pumping the fan speed to 100% doesn't really change the temperature, and playing a game doesn't either.

I was running 13.1 CCC and the problem went away when I uninstalled it and rebooted the computer.

HW Monitor reported it to being back to 34 degree idle temp (which is normal for my card). I then tried to install the latest beta drivers (13.3 beta3), but that introduced the same old problem.

I googled the problem, and several people reports to have this problem, but those topics were old, and supposedly fixed now, however that is clearly not the case.

My GPU is a Radeon HD 5870

I haven't overclocked my card what so ever.

Is there anyone out there with a solution for me? I don't know what to do. I tried uninstalling CCC and just keeping the graphics driver, but that doesn't help.

I tried uninstalling again, and it reverted to some old graphics drivers from windows (version 9.12.0.0). The load is back to 34 degrees idle as it should be, so that means it must be a driver bug in the later versions.

Anyone else having this problem, or is it just me?

Try resetting CCC to factory defaults. If that doesn't help, try a clean install. There's a tutorial somewhere in the faq section.
