oK  SO  i  DOWNGRADED  12.6  driver  to  the  version  that  came  with  the  card....        2009.0813.2131.36817

I  downgraded   because   the  HDMI  audio  driver  had  dissappeared  and  12.6  would  not  reload  it  so  it would  show  up  in  the  default  audio  devices   in  XP.  Also  the  newer  XP  drivers  would  not  allow  you  to  change  between  clone,  extended  mode  ,  etc  with  two  monitors  while  the  older  version will  as well  the  HDMI  audio  driver  being  consistent.

So  whats the  problem  you  ask,  its a  minor  one.  Tinkering  around  trying  to  get  the  two  monitors  and  HDMI  audio  driver to  work  somehow  in  the  LH info  bar  with  all the  text  in  CCC  it  now  shows  my  main  monitor  as  DIGITAL  PANEL  (DVI)  2    instead  of  number  1  as  it  has  always  been.

In  Display  manager  window it  is  shown  as  number  one  but  as  two  in  the  LH  column.  Any  additional  monitor/tv  becomes  number  three  in  the  left  hand  column  where  it  was  two  before.  In  Display  manager /  boxes  it  is shown  as  two.

This  is  a small  thing  I  know  but  aggravating  still..........have  removed  the  driver  and  used  driver  cleaner and  then  reinstalled,  unplugged the  main  monitor  and  it  is  the  only  one  plugged  it  but  it  still  shows  2  in  the  LH  column...........

Any  help  here  would  appreciate  it.........have  searched  the  internet  to  no  avail.  Most  talk  about  the  Display  Manager  boxes  and  mine  are  fine  but  not  in  the  LH info column.

Thanks.........

Download and install Driver Sweeper.

Uninstall CCC and reboot into Safe Mode.

Run Driver Sweeper and remove all AMD/ATI drivers.

Reboot into Normal Mode.

Install latest CCC.

Also, did you click the black triangle on the display in CCC? Are you able to change the # there?

I hope this helps.

Hrothgar: CCC is completely different under XP

OP: That number means nothing. It's probably related to the deisplay devices section in the registry, which tends to get new entries whenever you change something display related. Good old XP... Just ignore it. Your monitor shows an image, doesn't it?
