I have been exeperincing two different issues with my new setup that I believe are both video card/driver related.

Graphics Corruption:

This happens about twice a week when I leave a web browser (chrome) open on my desktop, as you see from the attached image there is heavy artifacting on the graphics and text in the web browser window, once this happens if I try to open CCC the driver will crash and recover.

This does not occur when I'm activily using my computer, It's only when I return to it after it's been idle for sometime...

My computer is on High Performance mode and does not goto sleep or hibernate, However my monitor is set to sleep after 15 minutes and that brings me to the 2nd issue.

Powersaving Issue:

About 1 out of 5 times when the monitor tries to goto sleep it will go black but keep the backlight on and show a mouse cursor in the centerof the screen.

Also I tested this video card in my old X58 computer for a month before I built my new setup and although there was no video corruption issues the powersaving issue with the monitor was still happening... And I know it's not the monitor becuase my old 4850 video card shut it down 100% of the time for the past 4 years!

Here is some of the basic details of my system/drivers:

Intel Core i7-3930K
EVGA X79 FTW Motherboard (Latest Firmware)
Sapphire Readon 7970 OC w/Boost 3GB
Corsair Professional Series AX850
Corsair Vengeance 16GB (4x4GB) DDR3 1600 MHz
Dell U3011 Monitor

OS: Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit (6.1, Build 7601) Service Pack 1 (7601.win7sp1_gdr.130104-1431)
BIOS Date: 03/07/13 10:10:52 Ver: 04.06.05
Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-3930K CPU @ 3.20GHz (12 CPUs), ~3.2GHz

Running Catalyst 13.1 Drivers
Also tested 13.3 Drviers and experinced all the same issues, currently trying 13.5 b2

Everything running stock, no overclocking/voltage tweaks.

Just wanted to post a quick follow up...

I recently installed 13.5 b2 and haven't had this issue occur for a week now (used to happen at least once every 2 days or so) however I'm now having an old issue where my screen stays black when the monitor wakes from sleep (black screen with backlighting on) I have to ctrl+alt+del (not reboot just bring up that screen) to force the screen to come back.

Anyone else experiencing this?

Althought my monitor is setup to goto sleep my computer does not shut down nor do I have the PCIe sleep turned on in the Power Saving options. I guess this is better than the alternative, it used to just go to a black screen (with backlight still on) and never turn off... heh

Just a quick update I used the AMD Uninstall Utility and reinstalled 13.4 and haven't had a single issue! There must of been some bad files left over from the 13.5 beta... And my monitor wakes from sleep properly now and no more video corruption in my browser! good job AMD! looks like you finally worked out the kinks
