Ever since upgrading from a 6950 to a 7970, I've been having nothing but issues.  Strangely, games work fine and never crash, I'm only having issues with windows not waking up the monitor from sleep and BSOD'swith atikmdag.sys being the culprint.

Note, nothing else in my system has changed except the video card.

Other relevant specs:

Intel Core i7 2600k (not overlocked)
AsRock Z77 Extreme 4 Motherboard
G.Skill 16GB F3-1600C9-8GAR (2x8GB)
Corsair 750TX Power Supply
Intel 180GB SSD 520
Seagate ST1000VX000-1CU162 Hard Drive
2 x Dell 2209WA monitors (1 connected to the AMD card and 1 connected to onboard Intel GPU)
Windows 8 x64

When the monitor connected to the AMD card fails to wake up, the one connected to the Intel GPU does wake up and I can move the mouse around, but windows is completely frozen and I have to reset.

Here's the memory dump analysis from my last atikmdag.sys BSOD, in the hopes that someone can help figure out what's going on:

Didn't know I had an engineer. So many people these days think AMD drivers are open source and made by the community. I wonder where these rumors came from.

I'm seeing a similar problem -

Radeon HD 7950

Catlyst 13.9

Everytime I wake from sleep it crashes - can't diagnose it.

I've so many things (chkdsk, ram test, SATA cable swap, reseated RAM, CLEAN INSTALL !, etc) I can barely keep track any more.

My machine never crashes outside of this problem....it's driving me nuts!
