Operating System

Issue Details

Here is how i'm hooked up

[ati 7870] > hdmi > [onkyo nr616 input 1] > hdmi > tv
[back panel 3.5mm jack] > audio cable > rca adapter > [onkyo pc input]
[front panel 3.5mm jack] > pc speaker

Problem :

I use the 1st option for xbmc hd bit stream / gaming
2nd option itunes music to zone 2
3rd option when in front of pc (skype youtube etc.)

I use an harmony one That calls a monitor switch from pc to tv when I wanna go in xbmc.

Everything was working fine until a changed my videocard. I upgraded from a 6850 to a 7870

Now when I switch to the tv with the profile in ccc (called by the harmony by sending win+1 command) I get an error in my hardware setup (xbmc) saying pass trough audio is not recognize. Windows Audio devices manager won't even open.  I need to reboot to get sound working again.

I am having very similar issue, just got new R9 280X.

I have :

1. Speakers connected to my audio card (built in mobo) via 3.5mm

2. R9280X DP out - into HDMI Sony Receiver - into Sony HD TV.

With new Catalyst beta drivers, I see all of the HDMI devices show up in playback options but all of them are grayed out if my PC was turned on first and then TV / Receiver.

I have to restart PC in order for HDMI Audio device (Sony ) to become connected. Its very annoying.

I tried installing older HDMI Audio drivers from Realtek and AMD but then they only detect one hdmi audio device with 2 channels only.

Please give us some official word on this.
