This article provides information on the possible causes to the system-tray message that can appear saying, "Display driver stopped responding and has recovered," and offers troubleshooting steps to help resolve it.
During startup or use of an application, (most commonly a game or video application) the system or application will freeze/crash/exit to the desktop, or result in a Blue Screen crash (BSOD). The resulting error message and crash may reference one of the following driver files:
