I just updated from a Nvidia 8800GTS 512 to Radeon HD 7790. Before installing the new card (7790) i uninstalled everything from nvidia and restarted my computer. After that i shut down everything and opened my computer and installed the Radeon HD 7790. I started the computer and installed the latest Catalyst Control Center. After installing i immediatly got the big mouse pointer bug. I tried changing the everything in mouse settings but that didnt help. After that i tried reinstalling the Catalyst Control Center without much success. After that i tried installing the latest Beta version of CCC.. didnt work either. After that i wanted to try the graphic card so i played some Battlefield and when i began playing the mouse pointer just distorted into this thing. Any help? First Ati card and this weird stuff happens.

Computer:

OS: Windows 8 64bit
Graphic card: VTX Radeon HD 7790
Catalyst Version: 13.6
Motherboard: DFI LANparty DK P35-T2RS

This is old stuff and is caused by incompatible motherboards. A BIOS update usually helps if there's one available. It was a known issue many years ago, these days we rarely see this and usually with noname harware only. I'd contact DFI support and ask for assistance.

As far as I know the whole thing is caused by improper PCIe power/frequency management on the motherboard.

A suggestion: Try the card in another computer. I might be mistaken. If it does this in well-known motherboards as well, just RMA it.

You might be right, latest update for my motherboards BIOS was in 2008, and i do have the latest update installed. Well, seems like i wont be able to get it running properly. I should be thinking about upgrading the rest of my computer anyway.

Nevertheless I'm kind of disappointed with ATI/AMD.

I have it constantly bugging me. Found a workaround, which doesnt really solve the problem, but at least it hides the big cursor. I just activate Windows's Screen Magnifier and put it on 100%, the downside of course is that it has to be running all the time.

I have this same problem on my XFX 7870. I've RMA'd the card and my MSI 870A-G46 motherboard both, and the problem still exists. For me, it tends to occur when moving my cursor between screens.

I know that we have been seeing a few reports on this issue come through on the AMD Issue Reporting Form.  The more people that complete that form with specifics (including how to reproduce the problem) the more visible the issue becomes with the driver team as a priority issue to resolve.

I've reported the issue once before through the Catalyst Issue Reporting Form, but I've filled it out again for this latest BETA driver. I've also included a link to some visual documentation (http://uploads.realityripple.com/VidCur/) in hopes it'll help.

I bought few days ago Gigabyte HD 7790 and have the same problem.
I'm connecting my PC to TV through HDMI cable.
I tried everything and nothing works.

This problem is here too:
