A couple of weeks ago, my boot drive crashed. I have reinstalled all software and all appears to be working well. Except the driver for my radeon hd 6450.
Every time I install the driver, the PC boots to a certain point. However, the screen saver shows up and I cannot access the desktop. Once I remove the driver, all works fine.
System info- AMD FX 8120 8 core processor. 16 GB RAM. 2 TB WD HDD. 1000 watt power supply. Windows 7 Pro.
System is a little over 1 year old and all else works fine. Old boot drive was a SSD and suffered a power surge because the local power utility sucks.
Video card appears to be working with resident Windows driver at HD. However, I cannot access some games.
